Episode V, Texture Painting

After the load of work that was UV unwrapping this was a quick and easy part, but fun nonetheless! Painting textures directly on your subjects. Time to use that Wacom board, or time to get one if you haven’t yet ;) I’m no painter, so I guess I had even more fun painting the petals on the flowers and laughing at my own hopelessness:

If you’re thinking you’d actually do even worse than that, don’t worry, this technique can still be useful to you. Instead of completely hand-painting your models (big respect to you if you ever do) you can use this to add to the texturing you already have in place, for example adding dirt maps. Which is what the author suggested we did to the walls. Which I did. But you’ll only see in the next post, when I post an image of the finished scene :P after learning about camera projection with live mattes!
